Apparently the Gecko rendering endinge isn’t to happy with the white-space
CSS rules applied to textarea
elements. It’s pretty much ignored if you specify rows
or cols
, or specify any CSS width
. The text absolutely won’t honor the preformatted text and wraps wherever it wants.
Of course, there’s one way to make it work: use the wrap="off"
attribute. Of course this doesn’t validate in XHTML 1.0/1.1 Strict. I’ll live with that guilt for now. :-)
